Scream (also known as Scream 5) is now available on UK streaming and as a digital buy — a little later than intended.
So get your popcorn ready, because on March 30, 2022, the film became available as a VOD buy in the UK on most of the main digital platforms, allowing you to view it on your television (or smartphone).
The film, which went extremely well in theaters throughout the world, was released in UK theaters on January 14, 2022. As a result, 75 days after its initial release, it became available for streaming in the United Kingdom.
Scream 5 (2022) is also available to view for free on the Paramount+ streaming service in the United States, and has been available to buy digitally since March 1.
Fans who want to stream Scream 5 will have to buy it digitally on VOD outlets because Paramount+ hasn’t debuted in the UK yet (it’s planned “by summer”).
Scream 5’s DVD and Blu-ray editions are also available for pre-order as of this writing, with a delivery date of April 11th (see full bonus material details below).
Scream is the fifth installment in the iconic slasher film genre, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
The first film in the series, also titled Scream, was released in 1996 and directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson.
Wes Craven directed the next three installments as well, with Scream 4 finishing the initial run in 2011.
Because the new picture, simply titled Scream, is a direct sequel to the fourth, it is frequently referred to as Scream 5. (or Scream 2022).
A new murderer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teens to resurrect secrets from the town’s grim past, twenty-five years after a string of violent killings stunned the calm hamlet of Woodsboro, Calif.
The film is a horror film with self-referential comedic overtones, like previously. Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid lead, with Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Courteney Cox, and others returning from the original cast.
Scream 5 was a box office hit (at least while the virus was still restricting global audiences), with over $140 million worldwide as of this writing.
The popularity of the film has led to the approval of a sixth installment, which will hit theaters on March 31, 2023.
Unlike several other films released this year (such as Dune and The Matrix Resurrections, which were accessible to watch on HBO Max), Scream 5 was released exclusively in theaters and was not available for streaming on the same day it was released.
However, the picture was eventually made available in the United States through the subscription-based Paramount+ streaming service.
