Interesting kiosk
A touchscreen kiosk is nothing new in the world of dynamic advertising, but it hasn’t been utilized much to target customers directly until recently.
An interactive kiosk differs from an LCD advertising television in that content can be streamed over the internet for updates and to publicize new content and material, whereas the content on an LCD advertising screen must be manually added to the internal storage card media player (the touchscreen kiosk has a built-in hard drive that can be cabled into a data network or connected to a wireless network).
Touch screen kiosks come in a variety of styles
These are usually seen on floors, and the screen may be either portrait or landscape in orientation, depending on the application.
What impact will this have on businesses?
These will enable businesses to focus their products and learn precisely what their consumers want in real-time, enabling them to modify stock or reassess investments, allowing any business owner or management to maximize profits. It’s like reading your customers’ minds.
How does it work?
A man customer walks into a men’s clothes shop in search of a fancy suit for a special event.
He walks up to the interactive kiosk and sees photos of several clothing categories on the main display, including sportswear, formal dress, and nightwear. He taps the formal wear symbol on the screen.
The next screen lists the manufacturers, including the designer range of suits; the consumer selects the designer he is interested in, and then he is taken to the current season’s suits; if the man is looking for one of last season’s suits, he can click on an icon that shows last year’s suits; if the one he is looking for is not there, he can use the touch screen to register his request for the shop to source one of them out of date suits. The customer then receives a message from the shop telling him that the outfit is in stock once it arrives at the store.
A young girl goes shopping for an amazing wedding gown; she enters the shoe store (since she has already discovered “that dress”) and now has to pair the designer gown with some fantastic shoes.
She walks up to the Touch kiosk and touches the icon that displays flat shoes, high heels, and leisure shoes; she selects the high heel footwear icon; the next screen displays the available colors; she selects red; she is then taken to a page that requests shoe size; she selects size 6; and finally, all of the shoes in stock and available to the store are offered to the customer under two headings: in stock and “short delivery time.”
Because the shop scans the bar codes on the footwear boxes using scanners, they immediately know what product they have in certain colors and sizes, so if the customer chooses the short lead-time item, she can see how long it will take to obtain the shoes in-store on the screen.
A digital signage kiosk helps enterprises and company owners make the most of their workers’ time by allowing them to do what they do best: collect money, communicate with customers, establish buyer loyalty, and, most importantly, give customers the impression that they are in control.
